Alghabra Perfumes
FROM THE HEART
Alghabra’s first perfume is a tribute to Damascus's courtyard gardens, secluded spaces that have inspired the city’s residents and awed their visitors for many centuries. Like a traditional Damascus garden, From the Heart is framed with the shady foliage and ripe fruit of citrus trees and accented with flowering rose vines. And, just as a fountain provides a cool, refreshing spot at the center of every garden in Damascus, From the Heart arranges its sweet peach and sultry amber notes around a clean heart of lily blossom. If every garden is a small paradise, then this fragrance invites us one step closer to heaven.
CITY OF JASMINE
Even in ancient times, Damascus was known as a city of orchards as well as flower gardens, thanks to its favorable geographical site in an oasis fed by the powerful Baradā River. This fragrance nods to Damascus’s longtime cultivation of the jasmine flower as well as its thriving fruit crops, adding a juicy apple topnote for sparkle. And, in a clever reference to another trade that has been plied in Damascus since antiquity, City of Jasmine’s elegant base evokes the musky, animalic scent of leather workshops and the finely crafted items they have long manufactured.
POEM OF DAMAS
Many perfumes can be understood as poems, balancing their notes like carefully chosen words in arrangements that evoke fleeting moods and moments. This olfactory verse is an interpretation of a classical theme in Eastern perfumery: the marriage of rose and agarwood. Poem of Damas is bold and smoky, deep and richly refined, with intense sillage. Like much poetry, it requires a certain amount of time and thought to absorb, but it’s worth the effort.
